An “Eddie Cantor Children’s Home” was opened today in the collective settlement Maale Hamisha, near Jerusalem, in the presence of U.S. Ambassador Monnett Davis, leaders of the Jewish Agency and of the Hadassah.
The institution was named for the American Jewish actor in recognition of his efforts in the United States on behalf of the Hadassah and the United Jewish Appeal. Speakers at the ceremony included Ambassador Davis, Moshe Kol, director of the Youth Aliyah department of the Jewish Agency, Mrs. Rose Halprin, president of the Hadassah, and Mrs. Abraham Tulin, Hadassah leader of New York.
