Eddie Cantor, honored at the World’s Fair Palestine Pavilion and Temple of Religion on his 25th wedding anniversary, warned today against the spread of race hatred in America. Declaring friends had told him he was exaggerating the extent of anti-Semitism here, Mr. Cantor said he had traveled throughout the country, and “I know whereof I speak. They don’t know what important industrialists are behind this business, who are paying the way of Senator Reynolds, Father Coughlin, General Moseley and Deatherage.”
Mr. Cantor addressed an overflow audience of about 2,000 at the Temple of Religion. Earlier, he was guest of honor at a luncheon in the Cafe Tel Aviv in the Palestine Pavilion, sponsored by Hadassah. A certificate in recognition of his work for refugees and the Youth Aliyah was presented by Dr. David de Sola Pool.
