Joseph G. Weisberg, co-publisher and executive editor of The Jewish Advocate, Boston weekly, received high tributes for his and his newspaper’s contributions to the Jewish community, as he was given the annual Distinguished Community Service Award from the Associated Synagogues of Massachusetts.
Rabbi Samuel I. Korff, spiritual leader of Congregation Kehillath Jacob, Mattapan, presented the award to Mr. Weisberg, hailing him and The Jewish Advocate as representing ideals “reflecting the panorama of the Jewish horizon, the depth of the Jewish community, the principles of Jewish activity, the cause of Jewish survival.”
