James Douglas, editor of the SUNDAY EXPRESS, asserts in today’s issue of his paper that “although all Jews and Jewry will unite in forcing the anti-Semitic poison into my soul, I shall never become an anti-Semite. Happily the Jews are not united; there are also anti-Zionist Jews. Are they, too, anti-Semites? I can be an anti-Zionist without being an anti-Semite,” he writes.
Mr. Douglas who favors an amendment of the Shechita law declares it possible that Shechita is more humane in 1923 than in 1906 when he first opposed it. “If so, I shall say so; if not, opposition to Shechita does not make me an anti-Semite.”
