Education Minister Zevulun Hammer has asked the Israel Tennis Association to postpone the tennis match between Israel and the Soviet Union because the match is scheduled for September 28, the second day of Rosh Hashanah. The match is to take place in Switzerland, as part of the regional finals of the Davis Cup tournament. Hammer said it was unheard of that Israeli tennis players would play on the holiday. The Israel Tennis Association has reportedly already asked the International Tennis Association to check whether the match can be postponed.
