Efforts by anti-Semites to exploit religion as an issue in the 1954 campaign were nullified by the voters, a post-election survey conducted by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, revealed today.
The ADL described a dozen incidents in as many states where anti-Semitism, in one form or another, was injected into the races for Governor, United States Senator, Congressman, or State or local offices. The states included Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, California, Texas, Oregon, Colorado, Georgia, Florida; Maine and Illinois.
