The route taken by the Israelites on their forty years’ journey ot the Promised Land will now be a paved highway, along which motor cars will speed toward the new Palestine, if the plans formulated by the Egyptian government will be brought to successful conclusion.
The Egyptian government has started experimental preliminary work in opening up a road across the Sinai peninsula, to connect Egypt and Palestine. The road is planned to extend from Suez to Beersheba.
