Egypt has become the first Arab state to indicate a willingness to cooperate with Israel in the reuniting of Arab families in Israel, a spokesman for the Tel Aviv government today announced.
He revealed that at yesterday’s meeting of the mixed Israel-Egyptian armistice commission the Arab delegates announced that the Egyptian Government would soon deliver to Israel replies to a number of inquiries put by the Jewish state in reference to the matter. The Israel spokesman pointed out that although Lebanon had shown a desire to implement the proposal to reunite Arab families in Israel, the early contacts were not followed by official government action.
