Egyptian police reported today that an attempt has been made to remove the bodies of Eliahu Hakim and Ephraim Ben Zuri, who were executed March 22, 1945 for the assassination in Nov. 1944 of Lord Moyne, British resident minister in the Middle East.
Since their execution, guards had been stationed at the grave of the two youths, who were members of a Palestine terrorist organization, but the guards were removed last week. Police suspect that members of the organization have been sent here to obtain the bodies.
A similar attempt was made immediately after their burial, when police arrested ten youths, one of whom–an Egyptian Jew named Sadowsky–committed suicide in prison after allegedly providing information leading to the arrest of the others.
