An Israel bridge team won a match in the Second World Bridge Olympiad by default last night when the Egyptian team they were scheduled to play failed to appear. The captain of the Egyptian team, Omar Shariff, had indicated earlier that his team was boycotting the match with Israel on written instructions from the Cairo Government.
A spokesman for the Lebanese team, meanwhile, announced that his group would not appear tonight for a scheduled match with Israel. One of the members of the Lebanese team is a Jew, Shoua Yedid.
