Egyotian military authorities today began taking energetic steps to trace the Arabs responsible for the Killing of five Jews who were found yesterday on the Beersheba-Nirim road, near the Egyptian border. They will report on Thursday to a special meeting of the mixed Israel-Egyptian commission which was called into session last night to investigate Israel charges that the five were killed in an Egyptian ambush.
The bulle-riddled bodies of three Israeli soldiers and two civilians were found near the kibbutz of Nirim after the jeep in which they had been travelling struck a land mine. The attack was one of a series of mounting border incidents which have been the subject of an intensive investigation by the armistice commission.
