The Embassy of the United Arab Republic today issued a statement declaring that the reception in Washington of Israel Premier David Ben-Gurion would create an impression among Arabs that the United States did not oppose Israel’s recent “attacks” on the Syrian border.
The statement said that the visit to Washington by Mr. Ben-Gurion is part of an alleged “world Zionist” scheme “to effect a deterioration in the relations between the Arab people and the American people. ” It asserted that the Ben-Gurion visit was intended to prepare the West for further “expansion by Israel” and “to inspire fanaticism in the American Jewish minority in order to mobilize their resources to working against the Arabs.”
