Col. Gamal Abdel Nasser, Egyptian Premier, today indicated that he wants Israel to give up the Negev. This indication was contained in an interview from Cairo reported here by the United Press.
The Premier was reported to have said that the Negev splits the Arab world and that therefore Israel would sooner or later have to give it up so the Arabs could have uninterrupted land communication.
Col, Nasser said Israeli concern over the British evacuation of the Suez Canal area and American military aid to Egypt is “artificial.” He charged that Israel’s expression of concern over these developments were “designed mainly to collect money from the American Government and American people and the rest of the world.”
