Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said he would try to meet with Israeli Prime Minister-elect Ehud Barak, Syrian President Hafez Assad and Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat in an attempt to jump-start the Middle East peace process. Mubarak made the comments at a White House news conference Thursday with President Clinton, declaring that he and the president held “convergent” views.
