* Ehud Olmert and Mahmoud Abbas met informally at a conference in Jordan. The Israeli prime minister and Palestinian Authority president shook hands and exchanged pleasantries Thursday at a breakfast in Petra for Nobel Peace Prize laureates. It was their first face-to-face meeting since Olmert’s election in March. Aides said the two leaders also discussed preparations for a peace summit in coming weeks.
