Ehud Olmert welcomed the last summer airlift of Nefesh B’Nefesh immigrants to Israel.
“Your desire to come here is the best proof of your solidarity and support, and the great commitment you have made to the Jewish people and the State of Israel,” the prime minister told some 200 new arrivals from North America after they landed at Ben-Gurion Airport on Tuesday.
“You came here willingly, from countries with high standards of living, but I must tell you that it is not always easy to live here,” Olmert said in a speech. “We are proud of you and are happy that you have decided to live with us and I am certain that you will feel uplifted living in the place that you chose.”
Nefesh B’Nefesh brought approximately 2,000 immigrants to Israel this summer.
