The prosecution office announced today that Otto Huhsche, 50, former aide to Colonel Adolf Eichmann, will go on trial June 18 before the Frankfurt jury court on charges of conspiracy in the murder of 1,200 Hungarian Jews in 1944.
The bill of indictment charges that, on July 14, 1944, Hunsche, as aide to Eichmann in Section IV of the Reich Chief Security Office, caused the deportation of Jews from the Kistacsa camp to the Auschwitz death camp. He was also accused of preventing the Jewish elders from reporting on the deportation to the Hungarian Reich Commissioner, Admiral Horthy, who had ordered a halt to the transports to the murder camp.
At Bonn, today, Albert Layer, 57, a former concentration camp guard, was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment, after being convicted of manslaughter in the slaying of a camp inmate.
