The lawyer defending two former aides of the notorious Gestapo deportation chief Adolf Eichmann has asked that Gideon Hausner, the man who prosecuted Eichmann in Israel a decade ago be called to testify in his client’s behalf.
The defendants, Hermann Krumey and Otto Hunsche are charged with complicity in the mass murder of Jews while serving under Eichmann during World War II. Their counsel said he wanted Hausner to testify that Eichmann was a pathological liar and that any confessions he made implicating his clients should be dismissed as evidence.
