Eight Endek students, members of the National Democrats anti-Semitic, anti-government political party, were sentenced to be imprisoned for one month for having participated in attacks on Jews during an Endek demonstration against the new Polish constitution recently promulgated by the Pilsudski regime. Hundreds of windows in Jewish shops were smashed and Jews on the streets were beaten by the demonstrators.
The Endeks, who are in opposition to the Pilsudski regime and whose activities have been hard hit by the new constitution, are showing their dissatisfaction by frequent riots against the Jews. Attacks on Jews are frequent and the prompt punishment of rioters by the Polish courts is apparently no deterrent.
