Eight Frenchmen were sentenced to death by a military court here this week-end on a variety of charges connected with the arrest and deportation of French Jews to extermination camps in Eastern Europe during the Vishy regime.
The defendants collaborated with the Gestapo while they served officials of the Vichy Government. A ninth defendant was sentenced to twenty years hard labor, while two others received fifteen-year sentences and one a five-year term.
