The third anniversary of Israel’s Army reaching the shores of the Red Sea was observed today in Eilath, Israel’s southern port which lies at the mouth of the Red Sea.
Representatives of the military units which took part in occupation, as well as all the inhabitants of Eilath, participated in the celebration, Members of the Israel Cabinet and high army officers were among the guests present.
The celebration included an “achievement parade” which showed the steady development of Eilath. Most interesting items exhibited were greenish copper stones and white manganese stones which proved the existence of these minerals in the Negev. A message of greetings from Premier David Ben Gution was read during the celebration.
