Prof. Albert Einstein called on Israel last night to curb nationalism for the sake of better relations with the Arabs. In a message read to a dinner given in his honor by Children to Palestine held at the Astor Hotel, the noted scientist said “the unparalleled persecutions which the Jewish people have suffered, particularly during the last decades, have produced a kind of nationalism that ought to be curbed if only to permit a friendly and fruitful co-existence with the Arabs.”
Mayor Vincent Impellitteri addressed the dinner held in connection with a drive to raise $60,000 for a new agricultural school at Ben Shemen to be named for Prof. and Mrs. Einstein.
