The concert which Professor Albert Einstein and a group of distinguished musicians was to have given this Saturday evening to raise funds for friends of Professor Einstein who are in need, will be given on Monday evening, January 15, in the grand ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria. Concert engagements of Toscha Seidl, noted violinist, prevented complete preparation of the program and necessitated the postponement.
Leon Barzin, viola, and Ossip Giskin, violin cello, will join with Professor Einstein and Mr. Seidl in a chamber music evening. Harriet Cohen, celebrated British pianist, will also participate in the program. Emil Hild will conduct a chamber music orchestra in a double concerto by Bach.
Governor Herbert H. Lehman, Felix M. Warburg, Henry Morgenthau, Sr., Henry Goldman and Percy S. Straus are the sponsors of the concert. Admission to the concert will be by invitation only and invitations must be presented when tickets are obtained. Tickets can be obtained by presenting admissions at the Ampico ticket office at 547 Fifth Avenue, or by mail from Mr. Morgenthau’s office. They range in price from five to fifteen dollars.
Professor Einstein, who is now at the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton, N. J., has shunned public notice on his present visit to America but was induced by his desire to aid his friends in need to undertake the concert as a means of raising funds for them.
