Professor Albert Einstein of “Theory of Relativity” fame, speaking at a dinner in honor of the visiting British and French pacifists, said he regard as unfortunate his resignation from the Intellectual Commission of the League of Nations.
Although the League is far from perfect, it has none the less the “most valuable possibilities”, Professor Einstein said. The majority of the League leaders, he said, no longer held hopes of realizing to the full the original League ideal. He gave credit to a minority within the League which, he said, was earnestly striving for the improvement of international relations. In conclusion, he urged that Germany must enter the League.
