Professor Albert Einstein was given a stormy avation to-day when he appeared on the platform at a big demonstration against antisemitism in the German high schools and universities organised here by the German League of Human Rights. Professor Einstein made a vigorous defence of the Pacifist Professor Gumbel, of Heidelberg, who has been subjected to attack by the antisemitic students of the University.
Professor Martin Hobohm, in the course of a speech condemning the antisemitic movement, pointed to the high sense of patriotism demonstrated by the Jews during the Great War.
