President Eisenhower was urged today to conclude his presidential service “on a note of positive achievement in the search for peace,” by taking the initiative to bring about Arab-Israeli peace talks.
Addressing the 35th national convention of the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America, here, Mrs. Moses Dyckman, its national president, proposed that Mr. Eisenhower, immediately after Election Day, join with the President-elect to give priority to this issue on which, she said “both major parties are in fundamental agreement.”
The 1,000 delegates attending the convention, which will continue until Wednesday, voted today to build a vocational school for girls and a community center in Beersheba, Israel, at a cost of $150,000. The Mizrachi Women’s Organization of Canada will Join in sponsoring the project, which will serve 200 students and also provide a cultural center for the entire city of Beersheba.
