Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, member of the U.S. delegation to the United Nations, last night expressed the hope that Israel will be admitted to the United Nations during the coming spring session of the General Assembly. She spoke at a local United Jewish Appeal meeting here.
“I think that already this young nation and its government have proved that they have a right to take their place with other nations of the world,” she said. She also expressed the hope that Israel and her Arab neighbors will reach a peaceful settlement and added that in peacetime the Arab states will benefit from the existence of Israel.
