Elections to the Board of the Czernowitz Kehillah were held yesterday for the first time in a quarter of a century. Previously, the board members were appointed by the government.
The largest single group elected is that of the Zionist representatives. Thirteen Zionists were elected; 10 so-called Assimilationists, belonging to the Straucher group; 8 Bundists; 5 Orthodox; 2 Poale Zion; and several others of smaller groups.
