Eleven young men were ordained as rabbis by Dr. Julian Morgenstern, president of the Hebrew Union College, in the chapel of the college here Saturday afternoon, May 24. The men receiving the rabbinical degree and their home cities are: Joshua Trachtenberg, Brooklyn, N. Y.; Jacob Shankman, Chelsea, Mass.; Abba M. Fineberg, Joshua Liebman and Bertram Stein—all of Cincinnati; Maurice Feuer and Morris W. Graff, both of Rock, Ark.; Phineas Smoller of Milwaukee; Alexander A. Steinback of Norfolk, Va., and Adolph H. Fink of Ann Arbor, Mich.

Dr. David Lefkowitz of Dallas, Texas, president of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, spoke to the graduates on the subject, “That the King of Glory May Come In.” “We must keep the heart of Reform pulsating with vigorous, yes, adventurous life. The desire for peace in Israel cannot justify a new orthodoxy in Reform Judaism, or even a stand-still frozen Reform,” declared Rabbi Lefkowitz in his talk.
