Eliahu Sassoon, former head of the Middle East division of the Israel Foreign Ministry, was appointed today Minister to Turkey. Mr. Sassoon, along with Uriel Heyd, who was named counsellor to the Israel legation in Ankara, will proceed to his new post early next month.
