Elihu D. Stone, an assistant U. S. District Attorney for Boston and a vice-president of the Zionist Organization of America and an associate of Judge Lourie and Mendel Fisher, for many years executive secretary of the New England Zionists, also close to Judge Lourie, when informed of Judge Lourie’s death issued a joint statement eulogizing the leader of Boston Jewry.

The Conference of the Jewish National Fund also adopted a resolution of regret and sympathy and the delegates stood in silent tribute for a moment in memory of Judge Lourie.
