Elso Lasker-Schuler, a well known poetess in pre-Hitler Germany, died here today of pneumonia. She was 68. She went to Switzerland after the Nazis assumed power, and from there she came to Palestine.
Mrs. Lasker-Schuler’s poetry appeared in popular periodicals and several volumes of her collected poems were published. Many of her works had Jewish themes, among which were “Hebrew Ballads” and “The Wonder Rabbi of Barcelona.”
