Emanuel Neumann Resigns Chairmanship of U. P. a

Emanuel Neumann, Executive Chairman of the United Palestine Appeal. resigned from his position the “Jewish Daily Bulletin” learns.

The resignation of Mr. Neumann from the United Palestine Appeal was submitted at the last meeting of the Board of Directors of the Appeal, and was accepted with regret. The resignation followed Mr. Neumann’s resignation from the Administrative Committee of the Zionist Organization of America in May, submitted prior to the holding of the annual Zionist convention in Atlantic City, where an oppositional group attacked the Lipsky administration and called forth wide discussion which led to the changes in the Zionist administration.

Mr. Neumann was one of the pioneer workers of the Keren Hayesed in the United States having joined this organization as its secretary when it was established in 1921. following the breach at the Cleveland Zionist convention. In the past two years Mr. Neumann occupied the leading position in the national administration of the Keren Hayesod as a volunteer worker.

In accepting the resignation, the Executive Committee of the United Palestine Appeal passed a resolution expressing the appreciation of the Committee for the services of Mr. Neumann.

Judge William M. Lewis, National Chairman of the United Palestine Appeal, has issued a statement with regard to the resignation of Mr. Neumann in which he pays tribute to his services.

General Frank T. Hines, director of the United States Veterans’ Bureau. advises the Jewish Welfare Board as follows:

“The Campaign of Education as to Government Insurance rights so well conducted by the Jewish Welfare Board and others interested in the welfare of the veterans, which terminated on July 2, 1927, has been successful.”
