Responding to a warning that tens of thousands of Jews this spring will head for Teheran in an effort to leave from there for Israel more than 300 leaders of Jewish communities throughout Connecticut today ###ised nearly $900,000 to enable the United Jewish Appeal to cope with the increase refugee population. The action came following a plea by Stanley Abramovich, J.D.C. director in Iran, whose address highlighted the emergency state conference at the Taft Hotel coinciding with the opening of the U.J.A. drive in Connecticut.
