Plans for the speeding up of emigration of Jews from Tunisia were announced here today. In the future, 500 Jews will depart monthly for Israel instead of 200 departing now, the announcement said.
Officials of the Joint Distribution Committee are now pressing the Jewish Agency for the abolition of the policy of selective emigration from Tunisia. They point out that the position of the Jews in this country must be considered potentially dangerous.
