Approval of proposals for emigration of Jews from Poland was expressed during a discussion today in the Sejm.
Deputy Surzyniski voiced satisfaction that Foreign Minister Josef Bec had taken up the question at Geneva “because it is necessary that the number of Jews in Poland, particularly in the towns, should be drastically reduced.”
He emphasized that it was necessary for Polish peasants, tradesmen and artisans to migrate from Poznan, western Poland, to Russian Poland and demanded a “humanitarian” solution of the Jewish question through emigration.
Deputy Rudzinski attacked a statement of Premier Skladkowski in the Sejm yesterday for not sufficiently stressing the importance of accelerating the movement from the provinces to the towns to displace the Jews from trade and artisanship. He said the Jewish problem was most difficult, but had to be faced.
