Emir Abdullah of Transjordania, who today was host at a luncheon in Amman in honor of Moshe Shertok, member of the political department of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, ridiculed the idea that his protective visit to London was for the purpose of negotiating with the British government.
Stories current in the Arab press throughout the Near East state that the Emir’s visit to London is in preparation to his being crowned king of Palestine and Transjordania.
The London Colonial Office has emphatically denied the story, stating that the Emir’s visit to London in June is merely one of courtesy.
