Both the Republican and Democratic Parties in Minnesota favor enactment of fair employment legislation in the State, the State Senate’s judiciary committee was told here this week.
Witnesses before the committee declared that three-fourths of the State’s population favored adoption of employment on merit legislation. Two nearly identical measures are now pending in the legislature. The campaign for enactment of an FEP law here is being led by the Minnesota Council for Employment on Merit and has the backing of several hundred state organizations, including the Jewish groups.
