More than 1,000 prospective immigrants for the United States are piled up in Bremen as a result of a nation-wide U.S. maritime strike, which has just ended, Army headquarters here announced today.
The announcement said that about another 3,000 are waiting in Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Munich. Since the Bremen staging area is capable of accommodating 2,000 persons, it is expected that another 1,000 will be moved there shortly, now that the strike has ended.
