Jewish students were forcibly ejected by anti-Semitic nationalist Endeks from the University of Poznan today when they attempted to re-enter after having been thrown out a week ago. A number of Jewish students were beaten up. Windows were smashed in the laboratory of Professor Jurasz because he interceded with the authorities in behalf of the Jewish students.
Last week when the Jewish students appealed to the rector to close the university, he advised them to remain at home a week until the disorders would subside.
Jewish students of the Polytechnicum Institute of Lwow at a special meeting resolved to abstain from attending classes and demanded that protection be accorded them by the Ministry of Education. In yesterday’s anti-Jewish attacks by Endek students (members of the anti-Semitic National Democratic Party) twelve Jewish students were wounded. Of the twelve, two were taken to a hospital in a serious condition. Both Jews, David Psachis and Nathan Berger, had been belabored with iron rods. The rioting was confined chiefly to the students of the fourth and fifth years, lectures in these classes being temporarily suspended.
