Dr. H. C. Engelbrecht addressed more than 800 women on “The Munitions Question” at the annual luncheon of the Brooklyn Section of the National Council of Jewish Women, held yesterday afternoon at Temple Beth Elohim, Garfield place and Eighth avenue.
“The arms industry,” he said, “is not interested in the right or wrong of war. It is concerned only with customers. This indiscriminate and unrestricted sale constitutes one of our great national problems.
“There is something tragic and inhuman in the fact that the years from 1914 to 1918 were those of the greatest prosperity in the history of the United States up to that time.”
Mrs. Samuel Parnass headed the luncheon committee.
