The resolution passed by both houses of the United States Congress favoxing unrestricted Jewish immigration into Palestine “may well prove the proverbial spark which may light a conflagration in the Middle and Near East”, stated the nationalist “Bombay Chronicle” today.
The “Times of India” said: “Those genuinely concerned about the future of Palestine will unreservedly condemn the United States Senate’s action. This decision, coming at a time when the Anglo-American committee is making an impartial enquiry into the complex Arab. Jewish problems is irresponsible in the extreme.”
