Enthusiastic celebrations continued untilly this morning as Argentine Jewry celebrated the announcement of the U.N. decision setting up a Jewish State in Palestine.
Large crowds gathered in cafes, synagogues and Jewish institutional buildings. crowds’ celebration was somewhat dampened by the news of Argentina’s abstention, ##hough the conviction prevailed that the abstention did not indicate an anti-##itic attitude on the part of the government.
Jewish youths improvised a song entitled “The Jewish Homeland Is No Longer An ##usion,” which was sung continuously. Extemporaneous speeches were delivered in ##y parts of the city and Jewish newspapers published special editions.
