Ephraim Auerbach, noted Yiddish poet and journalist, died today at the age of 80 at the Belinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. His funeral will take place tomorrow. Mr. Auerbach, a long-time member of the editorial staff of the now definet Day-Morning Journal, came to Palestine in 1912. During World War I he joined the “Zion Mule Corps” (the Jewish Legion) founded by Joseph Trumpveldor and Vladimir Jabotinsky, Due to illness, he went to the United States where he stayed for 50 years. A committee of Yiddish writers and poets of the World Federation of Jewish Journalists, and friends, are organizing the funeral services.
