A new opera by the Jewish composer, Ernst Bloch, presented here was very favorably received by the critics.
Several years ago M. Bloch composed an opera entitled “Macbeth”, the libretto of which was written by the well-known Edmund Fleg. This opera was produced at I’Opera Comique with great success.
M. Bloch came here from Geneva. He had previously been in the United States where he devoted himself exclusively to Jewish music.
