The family of the prominent Jewish attorney, Strauss, chairman of the local branch of the Central Verein, and brother-in-law of the Ministerial Councillor Hirschfeld, escaped death when an infernal machine destroyed their villa at Luneberg.
The explosion was so great that the windows were thrown a distance of 100 meters. The Strauss family happened to be away on a vacation. It is stated that the attempt was perpetrated as a result of propaganda of the anti-Semitic National Socialist Party.
