Finance Minister Levi Eshkol of Israel will come to the United States early next month to confer with Israel bond leaders on plans for the 1959 Israel bond drive, it was announced today by Dr. Joseph J.Schwartz, vice president of the Israel Bond Organization.
Mr. Eshkol will report on Israel’s financial needs for economic development at an extraordinary three-day meeting of the board of governors and community leadership of the Israel bond campaign, which will be held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York during the week-end of January 9th. More than 450 prominent men and women from various communities in the United States and Canada will take part in the conference.
In discussing the purpose of the expanded board of governors meeting, Dr. Schwartz pointed out that one of the key items which will receive the special attention of the Israel bond leaders will be the preparations for the launching of a new Israel bond issue in the United States early in 1959.
