The Cabinet will hold a special meeting tomorrow to hear a report by Prime Minister Levi Eshkol on his visit to the United States, it was reported here today. Next Tuesday, the Premier will report to the Knesset on the visit.
Herut, the right-wing opposition party, meanwhile has withdrawn today its motion calling for debate over Premier Eshkol’s “declarations in the United States,” but it is understood that the party will demand debate on the issue following Mr. Eshkol’s statement in the Knesset. It is not yet known whether the Government will agree to the inclusion of such debate on the agenda.
Herut has been particularly critical of the Premier’s statements in which he described Soviet Premier Khrushchev’s speeches in Cairo as “moderate.” The right-wing party also feels that Mr. Eshkol had not stressed the danger of vast Soviet aid to Nasser while the latter openly avows his intention to destroy Israel.
