Establishes Scholarship Fund for Young Israeli Art Students

A $50,000 scholarship fund for young Israeli students in the fields of painting, music and sculpture was announced today by Mme. Helena Rubinstein at a reception and tea given in her honor by the New York chapter of the Women’s Division of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. Nine. Rubinstein recently dedicated the new $250,000 Helena Rubinstein Pavilion of Contemporary Art, a unit of the Tel Aviv Art Center, which was made possible by her gift.

The scholarship will be disbursed at the rate of $5,000 a year for the next 10 years, beginning in 1959. To be administered by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, the fund will be known as the “Helena Rubinstein Scholarships. ” It is expected that three scholarships for study abroad will be awarded each year.
