At least fifty million marks is required for the purchase of Jewish firms which have already announced their intention of selling out through the medium of newspaper advertisements, the Rheinische Landeszeitung reports today on the basis of a survey it conducted.

Most of the firms, the paper states, employ between 100 and 300 workers.

The number of smaller firms for sale is impossible to establish, the paper admits, explaining that these are sold without recourse to advertising. It states, however, that firms in this group, valued at less than 10,000 marks, are practically all out of Jewish hands.

In this connection, it is pointed out by the Essen Chamber of Commerce that German commercial life is well on the way to complete compliance with article 16 in the Nazi party’s program which provides for the creation of a “healthy middle class” under “Aryan” principles.
